Rap Troubadour, PALO XANTO is a hybrid artist and band out of Joshua Tree, CA. With a signature style of raw truth spitting and mellow crooning over barebones rhythms, PALO XANTO's music can best be described as High Desert Blues Rap.
The style is acoustic and unplugged and the flow is laid back - part conscious rap, part troubadour. The content of the lyrics includes themes of soul searching, inner reflection, self-affirmation, the questioning of truth, and the occasional reference to weed and psychedelics throughout.
PALO XANTO (fka Pic.) has been a key member of various groups and projects since the late 90's, all raw and underground in nature. Most notably, Bay Area alternative Hip Hop crew Illa-Dapted, and LA dark wave band Pic Vicious. Throughout his career, he has recorded numerous albums, countless songs, worked with producers from Hip Hop to rock to pop, and been blessed to have shared the stage with artists such as De La Soul, E-40, The Coup, Black Sheep, Girl Talk, LMFAO, Brazilian Girls and many others.
Currently, PALO XANTO performs as a band across the California desert areas and beyond. As an artist, he has released a debut project RAW MAJIK along with a remixed version of it in collaboration with a handful of producers titled CULTIVATE REALITY. Another project is set to be released in summer of 2024. As an active artist and community builder, he also curates a communal event series called HOMESTEAD SESSIONS in the High Desert which features some of the area's top artists and poets for an intimate, invite-only experience.
